People of dera khalsa are mature enough to know about their rights in the society and about an adequate standard of living for themselves and their families, including adequate food, clothing and housing, and continuous improvement of living conditions.The people of this village are taking active part in local regional politics since long.The basic purpose for such participation is to protect their rights in the society. The candidate for any regional / local poll is nominated with the consent of majority of people and is fully supported to win the poll.

A village of  Punjab   (Pakistan) situated in  tehsil Kallar Syedan is  identified as dera khalsa. The name was given by the   administration of Sub continent of this region during 18th century on demand of  Sikh   community. This name is still used to refer this village.
